Danny Peart
Poet
Danny has been living the life of a poet, studying the lives of other poets for more than 10 years. He will share what he has learned about writing and publishing poems, while asking you to participate in the creation of your own poetry. If you have written a poem or two, please bring them.
If you have a book by a poet you like, please bring it. We’ll talk about how to get a book finished and published, how to launch a book and how to approach the mic at your reading. We will speak of poets, write poetry and have fun.
Danny Peart was born in Port Dalhousie, Ontario and currently resides in Vancouver, B.C. He is supported by his wife, Janette Lindley, two sons, Max and Nick, and a yellow lab, Mila. (She is responsible for all publishing.) He has worked as a bartender, a personal trainer, a Globe and Mail paperboy, and the parts manager for a farm equipment dealer. He has published 4 books: Ruined by Love (poems), Stark Naked in a Laundromat (stories & poems), Another Mountain to Climb (poems), Not Quite So Handsome (poems). He is most comfortable reading and writing in a quiet café (daily), though he seeks the mountains often for hiking, skiing and snowshoeing.
